Above is the short film my group and I created, based on a scene from the television drama - Waterloo Road. Nargis filmed, whilst I directed. My role was to compose shots and explain to the actresses where I wanted them to look and how I wanted them to react. I produced a script for the drama students and also showed them the original clip. I used the original scene to help compose the shots.
Our short film comprises of Gabriella being bullied in the girls toilets after returning to school. Two of the three girls flush Gabriella's head down the loo, whilst the third, Kacey, loosing confidence, briskly leaves the girls toilets only to run into a teacher. This teacher has already shown a strong dislike for Gabriella and this is portrayed in her blunt accusations that Gabriella "must" have provoked them. The teacher confronts the bullies, telling them not to do it again, whilst Kacey lingers behind her. The bullies plead with the teacher not to report them for their crimes and Gabriella chooses not to "make a complaint" for fear the girls will bully her further, implied by the long stares inflicted on Gabriella.
